heaven: an idyllic state of mind where one is close to God and experiencing great love.
heavens: the sky, low-earth-orbit, our solar system, deep space.
The confusion over 'heaven' and 'heavens' has been/is a HUGE problem! Historically, there has been a problem differentiating between the two throughout the centuries throughout the many world cultures.
The King James Version (KJV) or Authorized Version of the Bible (KJV) was produced in 1611. In it, Genesis 1:1 reads, "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth". Thus the confusion between 'heaven' and 'heavens' continued into modern English with just that one letter: S. In the Revised Standard Version (RSV) of 1971, Gn 1:1 reads, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth". The New International Version (NIV) has the same wording as do most recent translations. In one student Bible, I saw, "In the beginning, God created the skies and the earth." Ah, problem solved! Uh, not quite.
The Qur'an refers to "7 heavens". This originally eminated from the fact that there are 7 moving celestial bodies in the heavens74 that can be seen with the naked eye: Sun, Moon, 5 'wandering stars (planets [Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn]). Almost all Muslims confuse 'being in heaven' with 'being in the heavens after you die'. This is going to take some work to straighten out!7seals.blogspot.com7seals.yuku.com

From Mad Brad's email to the Ministry of Hajj of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia"
"I want to make sure that I do not misrepresent myself in any way here or elsewhere. I am a seeker of the truth, a scientist and a Muslim but not exclusively. I recognize that there is One GOD, Muhammad was a prophet of GOD and the Qur'an is the Word of GOD."
You misrepresent yourself all over the Internet, Brad. You're not a "seeker of truth" because you've already decided you know the absolute truth of everything. You're NOT a scientist-- you have no clue as to the nature of science-- you're a moronic, hypocritical, self-promoting crackpot (as well as an Internet spammer and nuisance poster). You're not a Muslim, you 're an egomaniac who worships himself (there's no such thing as a partial Muslim anyway...'Islam' means 'submission', not 'supportive nod').
